Walk The Ridgeway Terms and conditions

Conditions of entry: By entering the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC, you confirm you are 18 years or older, and you have read, understood and agree to the following terms and conditions which is the basis of your relationship with NSPCC Registered Charity Number 216401. NSPCC, charity registered in Scotland, charity number SC037717. Jersey registered charity number AJC179 (“us”, “we”).

Medical conditions

  1. We strongly advise participants to consult their doctor before undertaking any form of exercise.
  2. You are responsible for ensuring that you, your team members and any children that you are responsible for taking part in this walk are physically fit enough and able to participate.
  3. Your participation in the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC is at your own risk and  NSPCC  shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage howsoever caused to you, any child participant or to any personal property in connection with the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC other than for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Entry fee/Registration Fee

  1. The Entry/Registration fee for this event is £10 per adult ; £5 per child over 5 (children under 5 are free)  ; £5 per Senior Citizen; £25 per family of 4 (2 adults 2 children)
  2. The Registration fee is non-refundable (unless we cancel the event as set out below) and non-transferable.

Children

  1. All children taking part in the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. 
  2. If you are entering any child/children as participants in the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC, you hereby confirm that you are the parent/guardian of that child/children. 

Event cancellation

  1. The Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC will only be cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. In such an eventuality all participants will be notified as soon as possible and information will be posted on the NSPCC Event page and the BT My Donate Page. If in the unlikely event we have to cancel the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC, then we will refund your Registration fee to you.

Clothing

  1. Please make sure you are wearing suitable clothing and footwear to undertake the walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC. If a participant is not wearing clothing or footwear which we deem suitable on safety grounds, then they may be refused access to the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC.

Personal property

  1. Please do not bring anything valuable to the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC. All valuable items should be kept with walkers or put in a secure place such as a locked car. The NSPCC cannot take any responsibility for any personal items.

Refused Entry

  1. The organisers reserve the right to refuse someone access or entry to the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC. Examples of reasons include but are not restricted to; misuse of alcohol or other substances, sight of an injury which would make it unsafe for the participant to compete.

Use of photos or film

  1. By entering the event you give permission for the free use of your name, voice or picture in any photo images or video footage broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event by us or the NSPCC in any future fundraising or publicity materials including national and regional press and on any of our website(s) as well as on the NSPCC’s Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts. In addition, you agree to NSPCC storing copies of such photo images or video footage.

Parental Consent for use of photos or film

  1. Parents/guardians with parental responsibility who are entering their child/children in the event hereby give permission in relation to any photo images  or video footage taken on the day of their child/children, for the free use of their name, voice or picture in any photo images or video footage broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event by us or the NSPCC in any future fundraising or publicity materials including national and regional press and on any of our website(s) as well as on the NSPCC’s Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest accounts. In addition, you agree to NSPCC storing copies of such photo images or video footage and your child/children’s contact details in case we need to contact you.

Food and drink

  1. For safety reasons, no alcohol will be served, provided or permitted at the Walk The Ridgeway for NSPCC. 

Pets

  1. Dogs are allowed at the Walk The Ridgeway event but must be kept on a lead throughout the event, are the owners are responsibility at all times and all owners must clear up after their dogs. Please follow the Countryside Code.

Data Protection

  1. We will use any details you provide for administration purposes only.
  2. You are not asked to provide contact details at the registration stage.
  3. We will never pass on your details to any other organisations to use for their own purposes and you can find out about how we use and look after data at nspcc.org.uk/privacy-policy.

The organiser

This event is organised by the NSPCC Shrivenham Committee, a committee of dedicated volunteers raising money to help fund the work the NSPCC does with vulnerable children in the UK.
