Working with schools

We work with schools to help children and young people learn about their rights, what's OK and not OK, and what to do if they're ever worried or scared.

1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse. Children need our help to stay safe at school and at home.

Child abuse is preventable – not inevitable. That is why we're here, fighting for every childhood. Part of the work we do through our school services is to keep children safe using interactive, age-appropriate ways to help them:

  • understand what abuse is and how to spot the signs
  • know what to do if they are ever made to feel scared or worried by something
  • learn about healthy relationships and their right to be safe and respected
  • build their confidence and overcome any loneliness they may feel.

We’re here to help schools talk to children and young people about things that really matter - like their rights, how to stay safe, and what to do if something doesn’t feel right.

Our school services

Our services are designed with teachers and children in mind, and made for every age – whether children are in nursery, primary or secondary school.

Speak out Stay safe

We support children to help them understand that abuse is never their fault, and that they have the right to be safe.

Our Speak out Stay safe programme helps children to understand that they always have a right to feel safe, and that they can speak to a safe adult or Childline if they ever need help or support.

With the help of our mascot Buddy, our Speak out Stay safe programme visits schools to cover topics like bullying and abuse - without using any scary words or adult language.

Talk PANTS

Developed with children, parents, carers and teachers, Talk PANTS is here to help children understand that they have a right to say no and if they need to speak out about something, someone will listen.

With the help of our friendly dinosaur Pantosaurus, Talk PANTS is a simple conversation to help keep your child safe from abuse.

It helps children understand that their body belongs to them, and they should tell a safe adult they trust if anything makes them feel upset or worried.

Talk Relationships supports all UK secondary schools to deliver inclusive sex and relationships education.

We want all young people across the UK to understand healthy behaviours in relationships and recognise their right to be safe, heard and respected. And we want them to know how to get help from a safe adult if they need it.
