Working with schools

We work with educators to help children understand what abuse is. We also provide professionals with advice, training and resources.

1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse. Children need our help to stay safe at school and at home.

Child abuse is preventable – not inevitable. That is why we're here, fighting for every childhood. Part of the work we do through our school services is to keep children safe using interactive, age-appropriate ways to help them:

  • understand what abuse is and how to spot the signs
  • know what to do if they are ever made to feel scared or worried by something
  • learn about healthy relationships and their right to be safe and respected
  • build their confidence and overcome any loneliness they may feel.

We’re here to help educators talk to children and young people about things that really matter - like their rights, how to stay safe, and what to do if something doesn’t feel right.

Our school services

We’re here to help educators, be it at school, home or in the community, to talk to children and young people about things that really matter — like their rights, how to stay safe, and what to do if something doesn’t feel right.

Our range of services are designed with educators and children in mind, and made for every age — whether children are in nursery, primary, secondary school or being educated in the community or at home.

Take a look at our school services below to see how we can support you and the children you educate.

Speak out Stay safe

We support children to help them understand that abuse is never their fault, and that they have the right to be safe.

Our Speak out Stay safe programme helps children to understand that they always have a right to feel safe, and that they can speak to a safe adult or Childline if they ever need help or support. With the help of our mascot Buddy, our Speak out Stay safe programme visits primary schools to cover topics like bullying and abuse — without using any scary words or adult language.

Our Speak out Stay safe home education pack offers activities, resources and videos for parents and carers to use with children aged 5 to 11.

The pack uses day-to-day items you can find in the home, and covers topics such as conversation starters, feelings, worries, safe adults, online safety and children’s rights.

Talk PANTS

Developed with children, parents, carers and teachers, Talk PANTS is here to help children understand that they have a right to say no and if they need to speak out about something, someone will listen.

With the help of our friendly dinosaur Pantosaurus, Talk PANTS is a simple conversation to help keep your child safe from abuse.

It helps children understand that their body belongs to them, and they should tell a safe adult they trust if anything makes them feel upset or worried.

Talk Relationships

We help schools through providing training and lesson plans that help deliver age-appropriate sex and relationships education to secondary school children.

Talk Relationships supports all UK secondary schools to deliver inclusive sex and relationships education.

We want all young people across the UK to understand healthy behaviours in relationships and recognise their right to be safe, heard and respected. And we want them to know how to get help from a safe adult if they need it.
