Get spooky with Halloween fundraising
October is the perfect time to support us with some Halloween fundraising. Spooky season offers a great opportunity to boost your fundraising efforts with a Halloween fundraiser – because to us, nothing is as scary as child abuse. Fright for a cause you believe in and help us change children’s lives!
We’ve shared a fang-tastic list of Halloween fundraising ideas below for you to use. Whether you’re going all out with a Halloween party or prefer a cosy night in with a scary film – our Halloween fundraising ideas offer something for everyone.
Plan your Halloween fundraiser
Host a terror-ific Halloween party

We’re kicking off our Halloween fundraising ideas with a classic! Whether it’s child friendly with duck apple, or adults only with a scare fest – you can adapt this Halloween fundraiser to any age group.
Invite your friends, family or colleagues to a Halloween party they’ll never forget. First, you need to choose a venue. You could host the party at your home or work space – or hire another venue. Good options include community halls or pub function rooms.
No Halloween party is complete without decorations! Get your frightening decor at the ready, prepare your spooky playlist, and prepare some refreshments to keep your guests energised throughout the night.
The easiest way to make this party into a Halloween fundraiser is by asking your guests to donate to the NSPCC as their entry fee. You can then include extra activities throughout the party, and watch your fundraising total creep up. You could sell baked goods, host a raffle, or ask people to pay to take part in fancy dress or dance competitions.
Plan a pumpkin carving competition

Our Halloween fundraising ideas wouldn’t be complete without some pumpkin carving! Pumpkin carving is another Halloween fundraiser that's great for any age group.
Set a date for the event and then choose where you’ll host the competition – you could use your home, the office or a local community venue. Invite your guests and ask them to donate to take part in the competition.
Ask everyone attending to bring along their own pumpkin – so all you need to provide are the carving tools and a spooky playlist!
Once the carving is complete, everyone can score the pumpkins. Create a system that works for you – it could be individual score cards, or a scorecard per pumpkin, but people can’t score their own! The winner can win a small prize, and make sure everyone shares lots of photos online, maybe with a link to a fundraising page.
Let everyone take their pumpkins home and be proud of your Halloween fundraiser and the money you’ve raised to help protect children.
Halloween bake sale

A spooky bake sale is a simple Halloween fundraising idea to pull off. Choose your bake sale location – at work, church, school or a local community event.
Then for the most important step – the baking. You can either bake all the boo-tiful treats yourself, or ask friends, family or colleagues to contribute. These could be sweet or savoury – but they need to be spooky to stick to our Halloween fundraiser theme.
Some scary bake ideas include Witch’s Fingers (iced buns or decorated shortbread), Dead Velvet Cake (red velvet cake with a rebrand!), or a Scream and Jam Sponge (a spooky victoria sponge!).
You can learn more about how to plan a bake sale here – but to add that Halloween edge, you can add a trick or treat element. Raise extra funds at your Halloween fundraiser by asking people to bake some trick goodies – e.g use salt instead of sugar or some ‘slime’ filled cupcakes with different flavours, like chilli!
Trick or treat with a twist

You can include some Halloween fundraising in your normal routine with this Halloween fundraising idea. If you go trick or treating with family or friends, why not take an NSPCC donation bucket with you?
This a brilliant Halloween fundraising idea for kids. Let them dress in their best frightful costumes and tour the neighbourhood (always supervised by a grown-up, of course). Instead of taking treats at doors, offer people the chance to donate to the NSPCC.
Alternatively, you could offer to give some sweets at each house you visit for a small NSPCC donation.
Scary film night

This Halloween fundraising idea is a little bit more relaxed than some of our other options. Invite your friends, family or colleagues to a scary film night as a Halloween fundraiser.
Either select the film yourself, or compile a list of films and ask your guests to vote. Then set up some spooky decorations in your cosy location of choice.
Why not prepare some Halloween themed drinks for your guests to enjoy? You could try Blood Bags filled with cranberry juice, pumpkin juice or mulled apple juice.
You can raise money by asking for a donation to attend, and a donation for any snacks you provide. Secure some popcorn boxes and sweet bags and ask for a small donation in return for some popcorn and sweets during the film – just like in the cinema (and a lot cheaper too!).
