Summer fundraising ideas
Host a BBQ

It’s not a British summer without a BBQ! Gather your friends, family or local community together for yummy food and fundraising in the sun. You could host this summer fundraiser in your garden, a local park or a community space.
To raise crucial funds for children, you could ticket the event or ask attendees to donate what they can.
For the ultimate summer fundraiser, add games, music, or crank it up a notch with a BBQ cooking competition to boost the fun! Plan a BBQ with a difference this summer and you could help fund our vital services.
Summer sports day

A summer sports day is a brilliant summer fundraiser packed with nostalgia. What's more, it's easy to plan and creates memories to last a lifetime.
This summer fundraising event is perfect for any group size – from small scale events with family and friends to large community events.
Start by deciding your location – will it take place in your back garden or a local park? Then, select some events – some nostalgic classics include the egg and spoon race, tug of war, the one-legged race, a sack race, limbo and a relay race. You can adapt your activities to the equipment you have available and decide if people should compete in teams or individually.
Depending on the size of your event, you could sell tickets to enter or observe, or run a ‘pay what you can’ entry system. It’s probably a good idea to provide some refreshments to fuel all the fun you’ll be having – include this in the ticket price or sell them as an extra fundraising boost.
End your summer fundraiser with a presentation to the winners – prizes can be as big or as small as you choose. This summer fundraising event is guaranteed to bring a smile to people's faces, while also helping us to prevent child abuse.
Get active outside

When the sun is beaming, there’s nothing better than being outside to soak up those glorious rays. A great summer fundraising idea is to plan an active challenge and make the most of the light nights and warmer weather.
Summer offers endless active fundraising possibilities! From local park runs to scenic cycle routes and wild swimming – it's a great chance to take fundraising outside.
- Ask your local parkrun if you can have an NSPCC sponsored session.
- Walk a local hiking trail with friends or family.
- Take on a local cycle route.
- Plan an outdoors swimming challenge.
Whatever activity you choose, you can collect sponsorship for your efforts to fundraise for the NSPCC!
Scoop and share ice cream social

Sweeten the summer and host an ice cream tasting party. Invite your friends, family and community to attend – ask them for a donation for entry.
Attendees can bring along their favourite ice cream to share and you can bring the spoons and bowls for people to make their very own ice cream sundae. This a great social summer fundraiser and its low activity level makes it perfect for any age.
If you want to make it the coolest summer fundraising event, you could even add a toppings bar. Why not add a sprinkle of competition with a ‘best flavour vote’ too? Or add a blind taste test!
With ice cream at the centre, we’re cone-fident your summer fundraiser will be a success, while also helping children live safe, happy lives – free from abuse and neglect.
