A child like Carla is desperately trying to reach Childline - because someone is sexually abusing them – and they have nowhere else to turn.

1 in 20 children in the UK have experienced sexual abuse. Many don’t even realise what’s happening to them until they find the courage to speak out. For thousands of children, we’re the first people they ever tell.

With your support, we could:

  • Answer a child’s call for help to Childline
  • Provide ongoing face to face therapy with a trained counsellor
  • Teach children how to recognise abuse and stay safe through our schools service

Please give what you can today. Your donation could be the lifeline a child is waiting for.

I was taken from the only family I knew and forced to live with my birth parents, where I witnessed daily violence and was beaten.

At 16, my birth father sexually abused me. I escaped, but I kept it all a secret, turning to self-harm and an eating disorder to cope.

How your donations fund vital services

Letting the Future In helps children and young people recover from sexual abuse through specialist therapy — rebuilding resilience and restoring hope.

Speak out Stay Safe has reached thousands of primary school children across the UK and Channel Islands, teaching them to recognise abuse, report to a trusted adult, and stay safe.

Childline is a 24/7 service that protects children and young people from abuse by giving them a safe space to speak, be heard, and get support.

There are lots of ways you can support our work if you aren't able to donate online.

Always here for children

Bullying, mental health, troubles at home, there are many reasons young people may need to contact Childline.

However, thanks to you, Childline is there to support children and young people when they need it most.

Our Childline counsellors are there for young people every day of the year. Whatever issue young people are going through, no matter how big or small, our counsellors are here to listen and help.

As well as online 1-2-1 counselling, children and young people can also speak to Childline counsellors by sending an email from their Locker or by calling 0800 1111. On the Childline website, they can explore a range of other useful Childline tools and advice for all sorts of issues they may be dealing with too.

We've agreed to stick to a strict set of codes and a fundraising promise, which means we treat our supporters and donors with respect, fairness and honesty and we are always clear about how we raise money

Almost 75p in every £1 we spend goes directly to helping children and young people. This includes working with children and families, our helplines, our Schools Service and child protection and awareness campaigns like PANTS. Read our latest Annual Report (PDF).
