Last year the NSPCC Helpline responded to almost 73,000 contacts from people with concerns about a child's safety and welfare.
We are thankful for the Government's funding at this time, allowing us to expand our Helpline capabilities and supporting our trained professionals to be there for the contacts we're receiving. We'll also be able to fund greater promotion of the service so many more adults will know how and where to seek advice and support, while also raising concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children.
The coronavirus situation has created new risks for some children during lockdown, and exacerbated others. It's vital that everyone recognises the signs of abuse at this time and contacts the NSPCC Helpline with any concerns about a child's wellbeing, particularly as frontline professionals may not be able to maintain their usual contact.
