Join our summer fundraising event for schools

We know the summer term can be a challenge – from sports days to day trips and residentials! Join NSPCC’s Summer of Fun and make time for your children to enjoy the sun and take a break, all whilst raising crucial funds for the NSPCC. Your fundraising could support our direct work in schools – like Speak out, Stay safe and Talk PANTS.

We have lots of inspiration to get you started – whether it’s extra time playing outside, a walk around your grounds, or an hour or two of pen and paper games. Use one of our ideas, or choose your own – whatever activity you choose, taking part in our summer fundraising event will help us change children’s lives.

Summer term fundraising ideas

Ant & Dec’s Propa Happy Playtime Power

This idea involves planning an hour of play for staff and children to enjoy whilst raising money. Our resource from Ant & Dec is all about embracing silliness to improve your mood.

You could try human rock, paper scissors – a great activity to get the whole class moving and using their bodies. A great option for pupils who need a mid-afternoon pick me up on a summer’s day.

To raise money with this idea, you can ask pupils to donate to take part. Our range of donation options means that students don’t need to bring cash into class, making sure any fundraising events are inclusive for all children in your class. The hour should focus on play and creating fun memories and enhancing relationships between pupils.

Measure a Mile with Johnny Ball

Combine fun outside with a bit of maths in this idea! A mile is a perfect distance to use for outdoor activities, as it can work regardless of your playground or ground size.

This resource from Johnny Ball combines maths, the Romans and fun in the sun. Pupils can work together to try and measure the length of a mile on the playground or school grounds using just a tape measure and their feet.

This is a great fundraising idea for improving teamwork and communication skills between your pupils – all while revising their maths skills!

If it hadn’t been for that assembly, I honestly think the abuse would still be happening. The Schools Service needs to keep happening so that children understand what is right and wrong. It gave my son the words to articulate what happened to him and to be able to say it was not OK.

- Caroline, a mother sharing how our Speak out, Stay safe assemblies helped to safeguard her son*

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

This idea is perfect for younger children, and can easily take place either inside or outdoors. Create your own bear hunt experience with your pupils with our Bear Hunt resource.

The measurement element of the activity can also be developed to fit with your curriculum focus, or to increase the relevancy for older pupils.

Bring this iconic story to life with your class, whilst encouraging movement, problem‑solving, teamwork, and creativity. Children can donate to take part in this special activity that brings their lessons to life away from their desks.

Back to Basics Play

Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best! Our final fundraising idea combines classic playground games and pen-and-paper activities. It gives children the chance to switch off, slow down and reconnect with each other and is a perfect option for any rainy days.

This idea is low‑resource, calming, and accessible for every age group. Our Traditional Games resource includes movement‑rich activities that get pupils exploring your playground or grounds. They’re designed to spark curiosity, improve coordination, and build teamwork outdoors.

If you’re looking for something quieter, or rain friendly, our Pen & Paper games are ideal for classrooms, hall spaces or shaded picnic areas. These activities develop problem‑solving, strategy, communication and creativity — all with just a pencil and a sheet of paper.

Whether you run these as rotating activity stations, a mixed‑play afternoon or a simple “unplugged hour,” Back to Basics Play gives children space to laugh, learn and unwind — while helping raise vital funds to protect children.
