This Christmas, a child like Maisie will contact Childline every 45 seconds on average.

At Childline, children are asking us the most heartbreaking questions. Even on Christmas Day.

“Why am I always alone?”
“Why can’t I feel safe at home?”
“How do I make them stop?”

With schools shut and children feeling isolated, Childline is here 24/7, ready for every question.

Will you give today and help us be ready for every question, when a child has no one else to turn to?

No longer alone

Steven’s earliest memories are of his mother’s physical and emotional abuse.

She was frequently violent towards him, but not his sister. The abuse was constant, even happening on Christmas Day.

At 14, Steven found out about Childline after a talk at his school and phoned us. It took several calls before Steven could open up about the abuse. But once he did, he no longer felt alone.

He told us “I heard a reassuring adult voice who wasn’t going to hurt me” – something he desperately needed in his life. With Childline’s help he found the strength to leave home when he turned 16 and escape the abuse forever.*

How your donations make an impact

Child cruelty and neglect offences in England have almost doubled in the past 5 years.

Last year 13,869 children contacted Childline about abuse and neglect.

£20 could help Childline answer calls from five children.

There are lots of ways you can support our work if you aren't able to donate online.

Always here for children

Bullying, mental health, troubles at home, there are many reasons young people may need to contact Childline.

However, thanks to you, Childline is there to support children and young people when they need it most.

Our Childline counsellors are there for young people every day of the year. Whatever issue young people are going through, no matter how big or small, our counsellors are here to listen and help.

As well as online 1-2-1 counselling, children and young people can also speak to Childline counsellors by sending an email from their Locker or by calling 0800 1111. They can explore a range of other useful Childline tools and advice for all sorts of issues they may be dealing with too.
