Let’s Dance Gateshead 2016

  1. The promoter is National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (“NSPCC”),a company incorporated by royal charter (RC000374) and  a registered charity in England and Wales (216401) and Scotland (SC037717). 

Eligibility

  1. Participants must be at least 18 years old and legally resident within the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man to enter the Competition.  Employees and agents of NSPCC or anyone otherwise connected with operation or fulfilment of the Competition are not eligible to take part. NSPCC reserves the right to require participants to prove that they are eligible.  If the winner of the prize is found to be ineligible, NSPCC reserves the right to award the prize to another participant and to require the return of the any prize already awarded. 

How to enter

  1. The Competition commences on Monday 25 April 2016 and all entries must be received by 23:59 on the closing date of Sunday 31 July 2016.
  2. By entering and registering for the Competition participants give permission for the free use of their name, voice, or picture in any photo images or video footage broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event by the NSPCC. 
  3. Except where it has been directly negligent, NSPCC will not be responsible for any damage, loss, or injury resulting from a participant’s entry into the Competition or their acceptance and/or use of the prize, or for technical, hardware or software failures, lost, faulty or network connections or difficulties of any kind that may limit or prohibit their ability to participate or enter in the Competition. 
  4. NSPCC will not be responsible for any lost, damaged, defaced, incomplete, illegible or otherwise unreadable entries. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt by NSPCC of any entries.  
  5. NSPCC reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Competition in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes that the Competition is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Terms and Conditions. NSPCC will use its reasonable endeavours to notify participants by their preferred contact method, in the event of such modification, cancellation, termination or suspension.
  6. Any illeligible, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected. 
  7. Any entrant who enters or attempts to enter the Competition in a manner which in NSPCC’s sole discretion is contrary to these Terms and Conditions, or by its nature is unjust to other entrants/participants (including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Competition, cheating, deception or any other unfair practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten, harass any other entrants, and/or NSPCC, and/or any of its agents) may be rejected from the Competition. 

General

  1. By participating in the Competition, participants agree to hold NSPCC, NSPCC Trading Company Limited, together with its employees, officers, agents, and representatives, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with participating in the Competition or resulting from the participant’s  acceptance or use of the prize, provided that nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall in any way limit NSPCC’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited.
  2. Use of participants’ personal data received by the NSPCC in the course of the Competition is subject to the privacy policy found on the NSPCC’s website at www.nspcc.org.uk.  Participants’ contact details will not be passed on for use by third parties and participants will only be contacted in relation to the Competition. 
  3. Participants must learn and perform at least one dance (up to a maximum of 4 dances) at the Lancastrian Suite Gateshead on Sunday  6 November 2016.
  • Each participant’s dance must last between 1.5 minutes and 2 minutes.
  • Participants may be asked to learn and participate in a group dance to kick-start the Competition.
  • Participants’ dances must be original and must not infringe the rights of any other party. Participants must not have breached any laws by competing in the Competition.
  1. Participants must be available all afternoon and evening between midday and midnight on Sunday 6 November 2016. If due to unforeseen circumstances, participants are unavailable to participate, then they must contact NSPCC on 07976065053 as soon as possible.
  2. Participants are required to supply a photograph and short biography for inclusion in the Competition programme before the 3 October 2016. Please send these to nihad.cehic@nspcc.org.uk
  3. Participants must supply their dance music in a suitable format to the NSPCC on or before 24 October 2016.  
  4. Participants must use their own costumes and suitable footwear when participating in the Competition.
  5. Participants must endeavour to raise £500 sponsorship as possible prior to the Competition. Participants agree to send their sponsorship to NSPCC within 28 days of the Competition [by cheque] Sponsorship money will be provided as cash or cheque to the Newcastle upon Tyne Branch Treasurer.
  6. You may use any dance school (if required) of your choice. 
  • The NSPCC will pay up to £10 per lesson towards your first 12 lessons. Participants must provide proof of their attendance at lessons to NSPCC within 30 days of the Competition. NSPCC will make the payment directly to the dance school.
  1. All NSPCC’s decisions in relation to the Competition are final in all matters, and NSPCC will not enter into any correspondence.
  2. NSPCC reserves the right to make amendments to these Terms and Conditions at any stage. In this event, the amendment will be communicated to all participants
  3. By entering the Competition, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all of these Terms and Conditions and shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.  The NSPCC reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants for failure to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions.  
  4. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
